Print Lending FAQ

Q. When will INN-Reach print lending services resume?
A. While there is no date set, a project team of OhioLINK librarians has been working on the resumption of INN-Reach lending since April. The exact timeline for restarting print lending will be slightly different at each OhioLINK library, as each library will be reopening services at a slightly different pace. If you want to know more, please contact your own institution’s library because they will have the most up-to-date information on both OhioLINK’s plans and their own local plans.

Q. Why did INN-Reach lending stop?
A. Print lending through the Central Catalog could not continue due to the library closures necessitated by COVID-19. The difficult decision to stop lending was made in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Higher Education and OhioLINK’s Deans and Directors.

Q. My library is going to reopen. Should items circulated through INN-Reach/PCIRC be handled differently?
A. You should follow your institution’s policies regarding circulating material. To help inform your local policies, please see the most current information about managing the spread of COVID-19 at the CDC’s website and on handling collections from ALA. INN-Reach items returned by patrons should not be sent back to their owning institutions at this time. They should be kept at your library until delivery service can be restored.

Q. Some parts (or all) of my institution may reopen. What are our next steps?
A. If there are updates to a closure that was previously reported, please have your Lead Implementer, Director, or Dean email support@ohiolink.edu to let OhioLINK know about the changes.

Q. I am a student at an OhioLINK institution. My institution is not open, but I need resources for my virtual class. What do I do?

A. First, check the website for your institution’s library; your library will have many resources available through their catalog and online databases. Also, it is very likely that your librarians are working remotely. Contact information for your library should be available on the library’s website. Second, OhioLINK maintains a list of resources available through our website here. Last, you can always complete the support form and we’ll do our best to assist you.

Q. What if I still have questions?

A. Please complete the support form and we’ll do our best to assist you
