Articles in popular publications are those published in the general, mass media. The intended audience is the general public. They are magazines and newspapers that can be commonly found for sale at newsstands and supermarkets.
Try these databases to find articles in the popular press (some databases also include scholarly articles):
- Academic Search Complete
- LexisNexis Academic
- MasterFILE Premier
- Newspaper Source
- SIRS Knowledge Source
These databases provide many electronic full text articles and refer you to print journals for other articles. Look for these links:
- In some databases, full text displays automatically, or a link such as Attached Full Text, PDF, or HTML, etc. finds full text within the database.
- The link Find It uses standard protocols to look for online full text, including other OhioLINK databases and library e-journal subscriptions.
- Find It also indicates whether your library subscribes to the journal in print or electronically.
Check with the reference librarians at your library. They have information about the services of your own library and further recommendations on appropriate sources (electronic or print) to meet your information needs.
