Table of Contents records were historically used to add contents information – like chapter titles, authors, and pagination – in 970 fields to catalog records in a batch process. TOC records were loaded to the Central Catalog and to self-selected local catalogs.
In Central, the 970 fields are preserved in the master bibliographic record, even if record ownership changes.
Libraries that load TOC records are able to correct errors in their own records.
When TOC information in the Central Catalog is in error, incorrect information can be removed from a particular title but it cannnot be updated to the correct information. Send TOC errors to OhioLINK via support@ohiolink.edu.
