Pelotonia 2017: August 4th-6th
Pelotonia is a bike tour with one goal - end cancer - involving riders and volunteers from throughout the state of Ohio and beyond. All money raised directly supports cancer research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James). Supporting cancer research through Pelotonia does more than just help patients at OSU -- it supports the eventual wider distribution of studies and information to researchers and medical communities around the world. In the spirit of cooperation, the hallmark of OhioLINK, we are organizing a peloton for Pelotonia 2017.
Executive Director Gwen Evans will be riding as the captain of the OhioLINK peloton - she is even considering a greater distance. Read more about why OhioLINK is involved with Pelotonia in Gwen's blog from our 2015 ride. To see how OhioLINK and Pelotonia’s combined efforts impact research, watch student Josh Javor discuss how his research is aided by OhioLINK resources.
We need you for this effort! For inspiration, check out the irresistible story of how a book inspired peloton rider Michelle Brasseur to get involved (and to spread the word).
Each route carries a specific fundraising commitment that you as the rider are responsible for meeting, ranging from $1250-$2500. The OhioLINK peloton can and will share funds among its members to help individuals make their fundraising goals, however, each individual is responsible for meeting their commitment. Riders are able to reduce their commitment if they change their route or registration, but they must do so by July 6. Please read the rider agreement carefully before deciding to participate.
If you would like to ride with the OhioLINK peloton, email us for more information.
