The OhioLINK eTutoring program will initiate several operational changes during the Spring 2023 semester as we work to fill the vacant eTutoring Coordinator position. We have put this FAQ together in order to provide clear and concise information about the changes for campus coordinators and tutors.
When does eTutoring open for Spring 2023?
eTutoring will open on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
Will the queue for writing assignments be monitored?
OhioLINK will monitor the writing assignment queue Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm. The queue will not be actively monitored outside of regular business hours. Code READ will be invoked only during regular business hours.
Will questions from students about Live Tutoring be monitored?
OhioLINK will monitor and respond to incoming questions and issues from students Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm. Outside of regular hours, live tutors may monitor their own messages via the “messages” tab on the right-hand side of the page next to the profile picture. Will Campus Coordinators continue to receive monthly reports from OhioLINK about their eTutoring usage?
No. OhioLINK will not provide monthly reports to Campus Coordinators for Spring 2023. Campus Coordinators who want to view their reports may log in to the eTutoring platform and use the Analytics features. For help, please see the Tutor Ocean Administrator Guide.
How will OhioLINK communicate to tutors and Campus Coordinators?
On January 12, 2023, OhioLINK will create three new listservs for eTutoring communications. You will be automatically subscribed to the appropriate listserv(s) on that date and will see a welcome message from the list. Please make sure messages from these lists are not caught in your spam filters.
OhioLINK will use these listservs as the primary method of communication to tutors and campus coordinators.
