LSP Migration

  • Ex Libris is starting to build the technical infrastructure to accept data for each library’s Institution Zone (their catalog).
  • Ex Libris uses the Basecamp collaboration tool to coordinate migrations to Alma. A new Basecamp will be created this week to facilitate communication among Ex Libris, OhioLINK, and Migration Project Leads for the main migration. Vanguard Libraries are already using Basecamp to work with Ex Libris.
  • Meeting recordings: The Alma and Rapido Overviews, and the LSP Migration Timeline meetings have been posted to the Webinars page.
  • LSP Project Leads have been preparing for the first data extraction from member libraries' Sierra catalogs, which will start on April 1, 2024. They will also learn about the Alma Network Zone this week. Anyone with LSP questions is encouraged to talk with their local LSP Project Lead.
  • Vanguard Libraries are learning about Alma “Letters and Notices” this week. The Alma system can automatically send customizable messages to patrons, librarians, and vendors. Meetings are posted to Ostaff.
  • The Working Groups will begin their individual group meetings this week. For anyone who wants to follow their work, meeting minutes and final documents will be posted on Ostaff.
