Founded in 1971, Belmont College is a two-year public college located in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
OhioLINK recently spoke with the Belmont College Library director to learn more about the library's patrons and services:
-
What are your top three points of pride in your library?
-
- Our staff’s thorough understanding of the needs of our students, so that we can develop instructional materials, lead class workshops, and select resources that help students to succeed.
- Our busy library staff also facilitate the college’s Library Paraprofessional online degree. We develop library courses, select and mentor library instructors, and support students in our online two-year degree, which also leads to earning the ALA’s Library Support Staff Certification.
- Our library staff maintain a special collection for the Building Preservation/Restoration (BPR) program, including many unique resources about the basic trades used to preserve and restore historic structures.
-
What is the most popular spot in your library for patrons?
-
Around the printer. The college has never charged for printing, and students find it useful to print class notes, PowerPoints, and homework assignments. Also popular is the library’s computer lab; students use it for group study, computer work…and printing, of course.
-
How long have you been a member of OhioLINK?
-
We have been a member of OhioLINK since 1999.
