Denison University Libraries inspire and educate the Denison community to become lifelong learners and active citizens. Denison Libraries offer comprehensive services that foster creativity and collaboration and support diverse learning styles.
Recently, OhioLINK spoke with Denison University's library director to learn more about Denison University's libraries and their commitment to their patrons.
What are your top three points of pride for your library?
- First and foremost, we are very proud of our knowledgeable and approachable staff. We believe it is crucial to have a staff that is willing to help and who is just as excited to dive into research as the students are. We love the connections that our staff and visitors make with each other, and we believe that it is part of what makes our library unique.
- Secondly, we have a vast number of resources conveniently available to our patrons via OhioLINK, OhioNet, and the Five Colleges of Ohio that are all very helpful for finding exactly what you need. These patrons help us provide information from all around the world that is reliable and much needed for our students to get their research done effectively.
- Lastly, our nascent but engaging digital collections are continuously being updated to appeal to our visitors.
What's the most popular spot in your library for students and patrons?
Students like to hang out in our Commons area (level 3) and our current periodicals area (level 2). Both offer group study tables, comfy furniture, and an atmosphere conducive to conversation and creativity.
How long have you been a member of OhioLINK?
Since November 5th, 1996.
