The Miami University Libraries – consisting of King Library, B.E.S.T. (business, engineering, science and technology) Library, Wertz Art & Architecture Library and Amos Music Library – support a variety of services, resources and spaces that support and enhance Miami University’s academic experience.
OhioLINK recently spoke to Jerome Conley, dean and university librarian, to find out what resources make the Miami University Libraries system so vital to the Miami student experience.
What are your top three points of pride in your library?
The Miami University Libraries pride themselves on three qualities that define our role on campus.
Those three main points of pride include our dedication to customer service and connecting our students, faculty, and staff with our services and resource; innovative thinking applied toward research, improving the student experience, and technology; and our team mentality when it comes to partnerships across campus. We take great pride in these three characteristics and feel they help us stand out as a benchmark institution.
What are the most popular spots in your libraries system for students and patrons?
All four of our libraries (King Library, B.E.S.T. Library, Wertz Art & Architecture Library, and Amos Music Library) provide a unique experience, feel and array of resources for our patrons. Among the endless possibilities each facility provides, the café located on the ground level of King Library is our most visited spot. King Café provides more than just a great cup of coffee. It offers inviting spaces for students to study, socialize, work on group projects, and meet with professors for extended office hours.
How long have you been a member of OhioLINK?
