Ohio University Lancaster's Hannah V. McCauley Library

The Hannah V. McCauley Library strives to be an inspiring center of education for the Ohio University Lancaster campus and the Lancaster community. Their mission is to play a vital role in support of the university's academic and research endeavors by providing access tools to quality information resources.

OhioLINK spoke with the library director to find out about the library's commitment to providing the highest level of customer service in order to fulfill its mission.

What is a top point of pride for the library?

When I asked my staff for their input on this question, they all mentioned our customer service, our willingness to do whatever we can to help people succeed, and the quality of our instruction. Having worked in a few 1970's era libraries in my day, I'm also very proud of how pretty our library is. It was renovated almost six years ago and is still lovely.

What's the most popular spot in your library for students and patrons?

The most popular places in our library are typically the group study spaces - we have 3 glass rooms with wall-mounted computer monitors that make it easy for groups to collaborate on presentations and other projects. It helps that the tables are large so even individuals like to be in the rooms when they're studying or writing a paper.

How long have you been a member of OhioLINK?

Ohio University has been a member from the beginning of OhioLINK. I assume, but don't know for sure, that Ohio University Lancaster has been a member since the beginning as well.
