If you have an item that is a media or microform item, please place it in the appropriate sized box (there are seven types to choose from: VHS, single DVD, multiple DVD, single CD, multiple CD, LP, and a large blue & white miscellaneous "pizza" style box). Use foam inserts when needed to keep the item from being loose in the box. Do not tape the box shut. These boxes are cardboard and the tape will tear the outside of the box. Remember that these boxes are meant to be re-used.
Also, do not put post-it note book bands on the outside of the boxes. This creates the same problem as with the tape. They can tear the cardboard box. Please put the post-it note bands on the item inside the box. The boxes are not meant to go to the patron as they may not bring them back. If you put a regular size band on the outside of the box, then the person receiving it needs to tear off the band to get to the item.
If the item you are shipping does not fit into any of the provided boxes, you will need to provide your own shipping box (but can still send it by Priority Dispatch).
