Cherie Bronkar has over 25 years’ experience in Ohio libraries and has been the Regional Library Director for Kent State University Tuscarawas since 2012. She oversees the Academic Learning Commons, Makerspace and the Federal Depository Collection for the Tuscarawas campus. She has been an active member of OhioLINK since 2008, serving in multiple capacities. Her diverse library career has included academic, public and school libraries.
Cherie recently received a $24,000 grant from the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services, awarded by the State Library of Ohio, to create an academic Makerspace. She previously served as Head of User services at Muskingum University where she created a statewide yearly workshop series bringing together Academic Librarians and Library Media Specialists. She initiated the Malagasy People’s Library Project to promote English language skills in the public schools of Madagascar. She also taught, developed courses and currently serves on the advisory board for Belmont College. Her interests include teaching and developing online courses, preparing high school students for college, promoting entrepreneurial skills and integrating technology in teaching and learning.
