Damon E. Jaggars is Vice Provost & Dean of University Libraries, where he provides leadership for one of the nation’s leading academic research libraries. He previously served as interim vice provost and university librarian at Columbia and has significant experience supporting the evolving academic enterprise in the libraries both at Columbia and another top-tier research-intensive university, the University of Texas (UT) at Austin. His extensive administrative work has included service planning, collection development and management, facilities planning and design and budgetary management.
Jaggars began his career at the Iona College Libraries, where he served as Coordinator of Information Technology/Access. He earned his bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of California at Davis and his master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he served as an Association of Research Libraries Research Library Leadership Fellow and completed the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL)/Harvard Leadership Institute's program.
