Dr. Morris W. Beverage Jr. is the President of Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio, where he previously served as CFO and treasurer. Prior to joining Lakeland, Dr. Beverage was the Director of Finance for the City of Mentor, Ohio, an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Cleveland and Manager of Finance at Fredon Corporation.
Dr. Beverage is past Vice Chair of the Governing Board of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges. His service at the state and national levels includes representing community colleges in Ohio on policy-related committees, as well as testifying before legislative hearings on issues related to higher education. Locally, he serves on the Board for Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland Inc., and the American Red Cross of Cleveland Board of Trustees. Dr. Beverage is past president and board member of the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO) . He also served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).
He has served widely as a guest lecturer at institutions of higher education and national meetings across the United States and in Europe. He speaks on a variety of topics relevant to senior management, such as behavior styles, emotional intelligence, management skills, business ethics, and other organizational development issues.
Dr. Beverage holds a Doctor of Management degree from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management (Cleveland, Ohio). He earned his Master’s degree in business administration and Bachelor of Science from Lake Erie College (Painesville, Ohio). Dr. Beverage also earned an Associate of Arts degree from Lakeland Community College, and was a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio.
