Established in 1992, the Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK) is Ohio’s statewide academic library consortium of 87 institutions, including the State Library of Ohio. Delivering both IT infrastructure and content negotiation, OhioLINK provides students, faculty, researchers, and staff with access to valuable digital research collections at a fraction of the cost if those collections had to be purchased by individual institutions.
OhioLINK saves its members more than a $1 billion each year for
print and electronic library resources
In 2024, OhioLINK engaged a public policy economist to conduct an analysis on the value of OhioLINK membership. On average, for each dollar invested members see an $11 return. Download a 1-page summary of the analysis.
OhioLINK also connects library services, print and digital collections among its member institutions and manages collaborative services aimed at reducing students’ cost of higher education in Ohio, including eTutoring and Affordable Learning.
A member of the Ohio Technology Consortium and funded through the Ohio Department of Higher Education, OhioLINK creates competitive advantage for its member institutions and supports student and researcher success across Ohio.
Together, OhioLINK and its member libraries provide access to:
- 38+ million books and other print library materials
- 100+ electronic research databases
- 40+ million electronic journal articles
- 290,000+ electronic books
- 84,000+ images, videos, and sounds
