When a patron has lost an item borrowed from another OhioLINK library, the borrower's institution has the choice of billing the patron for replacement or accepting a replacement copy. The replacement copy should NOT be sent to the lending library without first confirming that the lender accepts replacement copies. If we have information about lenders' policies, it is part of the institution's entry in the list below.
When providing a replacement please always send the following information, along with the book, to the lending library's PCIRC Contact (note: a copy of the virtual record should capture all of this and more):
- call number
- volume number
- copy number
- barcode number
- title
If a library's replacement policy is not listed below, contact the instution's PCIRC Contact for guidance.
