OhioLINK Advisory Board

The mission of the OhioLINK Advisory Board is to support the dynamic, forward-looking consortium of libraries committed to innovation and leadership. OhioLINK supports Ohio’s higher education community by cooperatively and cost-effectively acquiring, providing access to, and preserving an expanding array of print and digital scholarly resources; by efficiently sharing the collections of member libraries; and by centrally hosting access to digital content to advance learning, growth of Ohio’s knowledge-based economy.

Library Advisory Council Coordinating Committee

The OhioLINK Library Advisory Council Coordinating Committee (LACCC), with the OhioLINK Executive Director, coordinates the ongoing efforts of the Library Advisory Council to cooperatively and cost-effectively acquire, provide access to, and preserve an array of print and digital scholarly resources; to efficiently share the collections among member libraries; and to host access to digital content that advances teaching, learning, and research.

Library Advisory Council

Reviews and approves all policies for carrying out the OhioLINK program as proposed by the four standing committees. Discusses and approves major funding measures. Participates in strategic planning. Consists of library directors from all public universities (including two private universities), and representatives from independent and two year colleges.

Lead Implementers

Overall responsibility for maintaining OhioLINK policies and procedures on local Innovative systems. Meet to share information and to participate in ongoing training opportunities. Consists of library systems and technical services librarians.

Cooperative Information Resources Management Committee

Explores and makes recommendations to the Library Advisory Council on new databases and publishers that OhioLINK should consider acquiring. Focuses on cooperative resource management issues and recommends new policies and procedures. Consists of collection development and acquisitions librarians.

Database Management and Standards Committee

Maintains quality standards for the central catalog. Creates policies and procedures concerning all metadata for all members to follow. Consists of cataloging librarians.

Intercampus Services Committee

Recommends policies and procedures for statewide resource sharing. Coordinates operations among local sites and between local/central site. Oversees document delivery systems. Consists of circulation and interlibrary-loan librarians.

User Services Committee

Provides user perspective and prioritized feedback to OhioLINK on vendor products as well as OhioLINK-developed systems. Facilitates idea sharing among member libraries and monitor emerging technologies in order to enhance the user experience. Supports state-wide reference & instruction initiatives. Consists of public service librarians.

Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center Advisory Council

To represent the interests of ETD Center member institutions and authors to OhioLINK and the OH-TECH consortium for the development of the OhioLINK ETD Center as a leading participant in the global ETD community. Consists of graduate school staff and librarians involved with local ETD submissions.
