As we improve Ostaff organization and site hierarchy before we migrate, we are creating short videos to help you use the site. This video explains how to use the breadcrumbs for navigating Ostaff.

In this video, you will learn how to log in to Ostaff and navigate the Ostaff website using the breadcrumbs feature at the top of the page. The Ostaff website looks similar for those who are logged in and those who are not. And while logging in is not a requirement for visiting the Ostaff website, it is important to note that there are differences to the user experience between someone who is logged in and someone who is not. OhioLINK partners and program participants may access unrestricted content without logging in. However, if you have an Ostaff account, please log in to ensure full access to member restricted content. To log into Ostaff you will visit the website ostaff.ohiolink.edu and click login in the top right hand corner. And follow the prompts. In this video we are directed to the ohiolink.edu website and we will click on library staff and Ostaff home to arrive at the desired Ostaff home page. Now that we are here, you may be asking what are breadcrumbs? Breadcrumbs are a secondary navigation aid of horizontally arranged text links that helps users navigate a website. These breadcrumbs are particularly helpful to users of Ostaff because Ostaff is building out quite a complex hierarchical structure. As we work to improve the organization of Ostaff the breadcrumbs feature will be a helpful tool for all site users. On the Ostaff website our breadcrumbs can be found here under the top level menu. To see these breadcrumbs in action. Let's look at the committees and teams menu option on the right menu and use the hierarchy of available chevrons to drill down and access the link called Tools for Accessibility Testing. First, we can read the web page to review all of the tools for accessibility testing. But that's not all. If you scroll to the top of the page, you can also see the breadcrumbs we used that led us to this point. And we can use these links inside the box to help us backtrack as needed. I will use the breadcrumb links inside this box to explore the committees and teams page for any additional information I want to see about different Ostaff committees and teams. Overall breadcrumbs will play a helpful role in the user experience with quick and easy access to the user's location and trail at the top of each page, showing the user exactly where they are and how they got there.
