In two years, Wright State has taken an inclusive access pilot and expanded it into a program that will save students $1,000,000 across more than 200 courses, from fall 2019 and each semester going forward. Learn from Wright State’s success, including how IA offers students savings while encouraging success—without interfering with faculty ability to determine course materials. Includes Q&A with the audience.

Faculty and staff from Ohio University will share the wide array of approaches individuals and units are taking to reduce the costs of course materials for students. Administrators will share information about services and programs, including support for OER adoption and creation, implementing inclusive access, and incentivizing faculty through our partnership with education software provider, Top Hat. Faculty will share their practical experiences with these initiatives – what worked (and didn’t) in both course development and in the classroom. Includes Q&A with the audience.

Everyone talks about a multi-faceted strategy, but what does that look like? Learn from panelists who have been deeply involved in all aspects of deliverable affordable textbooks, including open educational resources, library-focused initiatives and inclusive access. Participants will discuss how to develop and implement a hybrid and collaborative approach to affordable learning—from working with faculty and communicating a strategy campus-wide, to the power of your library in supporting student success. Includes Q&A with the audience.
