ACM contract ending December 31

After thorough analysis and discussion, the Cooperative Information Resources Management (CIRM) Policy Team has recommended, and the Library Advisory Council has approved, the cancellation of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) contract. The ACM collection is part of the Electronic Journal Center (EJC). After January 1, 2025, OhioLINK libraries that participate in the EJC will continue to have access to previously purchased e-journal content. In addition, ACM open access content is available at ACM’s site. Updated information can be found at the Ostaff e-resources pages. Your institution’s E-resources Implementation Team (ERIT) members or CIRM representatives can answer any questions about the decision and its potential impact.

Members of OhioLINK’s CIRM (collection development) committee will discuss the results of the analysis in the context of OhioLINK’s shared collections principles. In addition, librarians from the committee will outline how they evaluate their collections in context with OhioLINK’s shared collections and how they select and connect their communities to the information resources they need.

Join panelists Brian Gray, University of Cincinnati; Karen Greever, Kenyon College; Jeff Grossman, Xavier University; Sean Kennedy, Kent State University; and Joanna Voss of OhioLINK for this session on January 16th, 2025, at 11 a.m.
