Alma

To perform staff tasks in Alma, named user accounts must be given task-specific roles (similar to Sierra permissions). 

In Alma, printing can refer to either the generation of a system-based email message or creating a paper version of a notice or letter. 

Alma supports authentication to a campus system via SAML 2.0. This allows users (staff and patrons) to log into Alma using their familiar institution login. Setting up SAML authentication must be done for both Alma and Primo VE. 

Alma can be set up to ingest patron information from a local student information system (SIS). The primary mechanism to do this uses SFTP processes, as described in the links included here.

Letters do not use preferred name fields out of the box, but they can be added to individual letters.

Ex Libris provided each institution with default Developer Account credentials, but you can also create a personal account and then invite yourself to your institution.
