Tip of the Week - #078 (Can PCIRC books be put on Reserve at another OhioLINK Library?)

Keywords: reserves, appropriate use

No. Since the loan rules are limited to something less than a semester, the book remains checked out to the original requester, and there is no local item record, placing a PCIRC book on Reserves is impractical at best and is not in the spirit of OhioLINK's online borrowing policy.

If you have a need for a book from another library for Reserve purposes, you need to contact the ILL or Circulation departments of the owning institution and make arrangements for a special loan. The owning library always has the right of refusal but will try to accommodate you if they can.
