OhioLINK has an exciting opportunity for our membership to plan the 1st annual OhioLINK Summit. We are looking for several volunteers to serve on a short-term, highly-productive project team to design this very important annual members meeting, which will take place in February 2018 in Columbus. The Summit Planning Project Team will be chaired by Sue Polanka of Wright State University.
What is the Summit?
The OhioLINK Summit is a recommendation from the Reframing OhioLINK Committees task force. This annual program is to be an information gathering and sharing event for staff from OhioLINK member institutions. Participants are encouraged to share ideas, brainstorm on future initiatives and desired services, and ask questions and participate in discussions about OhioLINK resources, services, policies, and procedures and the impact of these on one’s institution. The Summit is open to staff from all OhioLINK member libraries. Speakers, panel discussions, small group discussions, policy and implementation team updates, poster sessions, networking, and more can take place at the annual Summit.
What does a project team member do?
Participate on a high-energy team, contribute to conversations and activities to design an exciting and informative program for the Summit, solicit suggestions and feedback from colleagues, attend meetings, and follow-through on tasks assigned.
Who should volunteer?
Staff from OhioLINK member institutions who want to make an impact in the OhioLINK community, who are knowledgeable about OhioLINK resources and services, who have experience with event planning, and are able to meet deadlines are encouraged to volunteer for the task force. The task force will plan and implement this program between October 2017 and February 2018. Individuals who are looking for a lively, challenging, and fulfilling short-term project are highly encouraged to volunteer.
