Keywords: transferring holds, canceling requests
If you receive a request for an item that is not available, but find a different copy, this copy MUST be on the same bibliographic record as the item requested. Copies that exist on other bibliographic records such as versions published in different year, cannot be transferred to the patron who made the request. In these cases, you need to cancel the request with re-request so that another library may be able to fill the exact version.
