Pam Benoit

Executive Vice President and Provost, Ohio University

Pam Benoit is the Executive Vice President and Provost at Ohio University.  She has served in this position since 2009 and is charged with budgetary and strategic planning, implementing the University’s academic plan, advancing the academic mission, and continuously improving the quality of the academic experience at Ohio University. 

Before coming to Ohio University, Dr. Benoit was employed by the University of Missouri as a Professor of Communication, Department Chair, and Vice Provost of Advanced Studies and Dean of the Graduate School. 

She has been recognized for her teaching, mentoring, and research activities.  Dr. Benoit’s research interests include narratives, communication theory, interpersonal persuasion, argumentation, and leadership.  She has authored or co-authored several books, book chapters, articles, and reports. 

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from Ball State University, M.A. from Central Michigan University, and Ph.D. from Wayne State University.
